How do Blinder laser jammers and Blinder laser radar detectors work?

When a vehicle with Blinder technology installed is started, the upstart test function will alert the driver that the Blinder laser jammer is functioning properly and ready.  The Blinder laser jammer remains in standby mode until a laser speed detector hits the car.

Once the Blinder is activated, it alerts the driver via a small LED light inside the vehicle and an audible warning sound.  At this point the driver may wish to slow down.  The Blinder will select the appropriate frequency and transmit a powerful laser jamming pulse to the radar gun.  This delays or stops the radar gun from recording a reading.  You've just avoided a speeding ticket!

With a Blinder M27 or Blinder M47 laser jammer installed, what do you see inside the car?

All that is visible inside the car is a small LED light and a miniature speaker discretely mounted inside the vehicle. There are no wires or other indications that a laser jammer has been installed.

Are Blinder laser jammers visible from outside the car?

Blinder laser jammers operate with small transponders.  These are discretely mounted in the grill area of your vehicle and blend into the appearance of the car.

Are laser radar detectors legal in Canada?

This depends on the province in which you live.  Based on our research, we believe radar detectors and laser jammers are legal in three Canadian provinces: Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
